Portland police say they shot and killed a man while serving a search warrant Monday at a house near Southeast 124th Avenue and Burnside Street.
Police said a tactical team arrived at the scene at about 5:15 p.m. At about 6:34 p.m., a suspect shot at the officers, according to the Portland Police Bureau. Four officers shot the man. A medic at the scene provided medical aid, but the man was pronounced dead minutes later. Police said they found a gun near him.
No officers were injured.
In a press release Tuesday afternoon, police said the search warrant was connected to an armed robbery investigation. Two people were arrested at the scene; one faces robbery charges and the other was jailed for a parole violation.
The officers who shot the man will be put on leave as the Portland Police Bureau investigates the incident.
