Chris Cole started as a bike mechanic and painter, and over the years his art has evolved to integrate the mechanics of a bicycle into the aesthetic of an artist.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

These days, he creates motorized and hand-cranked moving sculptures, mostly shaped like birds and fish, that bring movement and gesture to the galleries and homes where they are displayed.

We follow him to a junkyard, then watch as he draws, cuts, welds, paints and assembles his handcrafted creations in his backyard studio, where all his spare parts are stored in an abandoned school bus.
