Compensation, benefits and working conditions remain sticking points, with district leaders saying the two parties’ proposals are more than $229 million apart. The Beaverton Education Association says students are suffering from poor learning conditions.

The Beaverton School District says student accounts involving email, grading and assignment systems and Google docs may have been affected.

Next week, the Beaverton City Council is set to vote on a contract between the city and the school district to have police in school.

The district's new hire is a former national superintendent of the year, Gustavo Balderas, and currently leads the Edmonds School District in Washington.
