The Portland City Council will debate proposed new rules for cabs and ride service companies such as Uber and Lyft Thursday. This comes after an extended pilot program in which the industry was essentially deregulated while the city collected and analyzed data to inform permanent rule changes.

We'll dig into the proposed rules and ask what the city learned from the data provided by cab and ride service companies.

GUESTS:

  • Leah Treat: Director of the Portland Bureau of Transportation
  • Bryan Hockaday: Policy Advisor to City Transportation Commissioner Steve Novick
