  • As reports of people camping in RVs and other vehicles have increased in Portland and surrounding areas, the city of Beaverton is considering whether to implement an ordinance that would criminalize camping in vehicles parked on public streets. The ordinance, which was discussed at a city council meeting last week, could allow police officers to fine and arrest people camping on public streets and impound their vehicles. Renée Bruce of the Washington County non-profit Community Action tells us how the ordinance could impact homeless people.

  • Ken Cowdery has been working on homelessness for his entire career. He's now retiring as the executive director of the Home Builders Foundation, where he helped expand Portland's homeless shelter capacity.

  • We talk with Portland concert pianist David Saffert, who has developed a Christmas "Liberace tribute" show performing as Liberace in performance with Liza Minnelli tribute artist Jillian Snow Harris. The show runs through Dec. 30 at Portland's Coho Theatre. They join us in studio and give us a preview.
