Two Oregon metro areas saw big increases in home prices last year.
The Portland metro area ranked 10th nationwide for jumps in home values, while the Bend-Redmond area ranked 12th. That’s out of 273 metro areas nationwide.
Both Portland and Bend saw a more than a 12 percent increase in home prices last year.
In the past five years, prices in the Bend area have increased more than 50 percent on average, and in Portland, 30 percent.
Several areas in Washington, including Seattle, were also among the top 20 metro areas for home price appreciation.
The latest numbers come from the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s fourth quarter report, published this week.
