Where's The Best Place To See Fireworks?

Haven't figured out how you're going to celebrate Independence Day this weekend? Here are just some of the numerous places to see fireworks Saturday around the Pacific Northwest:

Waterfront Blues Festival & Fireworks Show: This annual event, owned by the Oregon Food Bank, features live music on four stages and a live fireworks show. Admission is a $10 donation to Oregon Food Bank. Concerts begin at 11:30 a.m.; fireworks begin at 10:10 p.m.

TD's Pop Up Presents: The High Life: TD's Pop Up is hosting an evening of champagne, beer, local DJs and food at Three Degrees at RiverPlace Hotel, 1510 SW Harbor Way. The event begins at 7 p.m., and attendees will have an exclusive view of Portland's fireworks. Admission is $50.

Oaks Park Fireworks Spectacular: Watch fireworks, play a round of min golf, or hit up the skating rink at Oaks Amusement Park. Gates open at 10 a.m., fireworks begin at dusk. Admission is $5 for adults 16-61, $2 for children 15 and under and $3 for adults 62 and older.

Tigard's Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration: This family-friendly event features live music, kid's games and fireworks. Admission is free. Gates open at 6 p.m., fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Estacada Timber Festival: The annual celebration of all things timber includes an afternoon of timber-related events, an evening of live music and, of course, fireworks. Admission for children ages 8 and under is free, tickets are $5 for all persons age 9 and older.

PDX Portland also recommends the following vantage points from around the city if you want to see Portland's fireworks:

  • Hawthorne Bridge
  • Inner SE Morrison
  • Mount Tabor
  • Rose Test Gardens
  • Top of PSU parking garage on 6th and Harrison streets
  • Portland City Grille
  • NE Marine Drive docks
  • Sellwood Park
  • The West Hills has many spots near OHSU

Also of note: Parking meters will be free on Saturday, July 4, in Portland.

Fort Vancouver July 4th Celebration: Vancouver's annual Fourth of July celebration features a fireworks show synchronized to music. Admission is $7 at the gate; kids 12 and under get in free.

Ridgefield's 4th of July Celebration: Ridgefield's celebration of America's independence features a parade, free outdoor entertainment and fireworks. Admission is free. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration in Salem: Celebrate the Fourth of July in Salem with a whole day of family-friendly events starting at 4 p.m. Fireworks over the Willamette River begin at 10:15 p.m. Admission is free.

Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 8th Annual Patriotic Tribute: Catch a baseball game and stay for a celebration of American independence Saturday as the Volcanoes host the Tri-City Dust Devils. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. with fireworks afterward. Admission prices vary.

Freedom Festival Fireworks at Alton Baker Park: Spend time at the Art and Vineyard Festival during the day, and enjoy fireworks at dusk. General admission is $9; $1 for children ages 6-11; children under 6 get in free.

Eugene Pro Rodeo and 4th of July Celebration: Gates open at 4 p.m. with fireworks scheduled to begin at 9:50 p.m. Admission prices vary.

Light of Liberty Festival: Featuring food, live music and fireworks, tickets to the event are $7 at the gate.

OREGON COAST:

Fireworks in Astoria: Downtown Astoria's annual fireworks display is free to attend.

Manzanita Parade and Fireworks Display: A community parade weaves its way through downtown Manzanita beginning at 1 p.m. A fireworks display on the beach begins at 10 p.m. Admission is free.

Fireworks over Yaquina Bay: One of the largest fireworks displays on the central Oregon coast begins at dusk. Admission is free.

Yachats la de da Parade Fireworks Show: The 20th annual Yachats la de da Parade features an all-day live music and food festival in downtown Yachats. Fireworks over Yachats Bay begin at sundown. Admission is free.

Burns' Fourth of July Parade, Hot Dog Feed & Fireworks: The town of Burns' annual Independence Day celebration features a parade through downtown, a hot dog eating contest and fireworks. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and admission is free.

Huntington 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks: The folks of Malheur County are joining forces to throw one big Fourth of July celebration. Admission is free.

Boardman Thunder 4th of July Celebration: Boardman's Fourth of July celebration starts with a fun run in the morning and ends with fireworks over the Columbia River. Admission is free.

Condon's Fabulous Fourth of July: A parade, breakfast in the park, tricycle races, games and fireworks mark Condon's celebration. Admission is free.

Haines Days 4th of July Celebration: The annual Fourth of July celebration in Haines features BBQ, live music, a parade and fireworks. Admission is free.

Halfway 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks: Along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, Halway's annual Fourth of July celebration features a pie auction, parade live music and it all wraps up with a fireworks display set against the stunning backdrop of the Wallowa Mountains. Admission is free.

Le Grande Community Fireworks Show: The party starts at Community Stadium on Eastern Oregon University's campus at 7 p.m. Fireworks are expected to begin around 10 p.m. Admission is free.

Shake Wallowa Lake Fireworks: Enjoy an evening of fireworks over the Wallowa Lake near Joseph. Admission is free.
