Musician and producer Richard Swift has died.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

He was a mainstay on the national touring roster, supporting bands like The Black Keys, Wilco and The Shins onstage, while maintaining an Oregon presence at his Cottage Grove recording studio, National Freedom.

A brilliant producer, Swift worked with a range of indie artists, including Sharon Van Etten, Damien Jurado, Foxygen, and many others. Swift coated songs in stylish arrangements that didn’t get in the way of intimacy. He also leaves behind seven albums of solo work.

Swift died of an undisclosed condition. Friends had been raising money for his medical bills.

He was 41 and leaves behind a wife and three children.
