Portland voters will make history next month, when they elect the city’s first-ever woman of color to the City Council.

But before that major milestone, they’ll have to wade through what’s become an intense political fight between candidates Jo Ann Hardesty and Loretta Smith.

In this episode of "OPB Politics Now," OPB political reporter Dirk Vanderhart is joined by The Oregonian/OregonLive reporter Gordon Friedman and Willamette Week reporter Rachel Monahan to discuss the twists and turns of this race.
