The company says it is still proceeding with a plan to sell half its building to developers.

About a dozen smaller arts nonprofits rely on the building for administrative and exhibition space.

In a written statement, the company says it has paid off its mortgage and other debt, and that it will proceed with a remodel involving two stages, plus room for its tenants. It’s still unclear how long those tenants might be displaced by the construction plan.

The theater announced last month that despite high ticket sales and fundraising efforts, capital costs required the company to sell part of its biggest asset.
