32-year-old suspect arrested for Vancouver Mall shooting on Halloween

Vancouver police say they arrested a suspect Saturday in the shooting at a mall in Vancouver, Washington, on Halloween.

Law enforcement arrested Travis L. Ward, 32, at a Vancouver residence.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday during a family trick-or-treating event at the Vancouver Mall. One person was killed, and two other men were wounded but have since been released from a local hospital.

Police said they believed the shooting was a targeted killing. Ward has been charged with first degree murder.

Clarification: An earlier version of this story misstated the age of Travis L. Ward. He’s 32. Vancouver police revised the information after the initial press release.
