Portland’s upcoming election could be a bit overwhelming. There’s so much to follow — with 117 candidates running for mayor and City Council.

Journalists at OPB and the Oregonian/OregonLive approached this election with a shared goal: Ensuring Portland voters have the information they need to make informed choices.

We sent detailed questionnaires to everyone who filed for office in this historic election and received dozens of responses. We asked candidates for specific policy proposals, what their views on the new form of government are and whether they would support hiring more police officers.
