A Delta Airlines flight destined for Portland on Sunday returned shortly after takeoff to the Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah, due to possible pressurization issues.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was a Boeing 737-900. It landed back at Salt Lake City without issues at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

KSL-TV in Salt Lake City reported some passengers suffered bloody noses and ruptured eardrums. Delta Airlines employee communications manager Erica Hutlas confirmed Tuesday that 10 people were identified as needing some sort of medical evaluation or treatment.

“We sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience on flight 1203 on Sept. 15,” Hutlas said in a statement. “The flight crew followed procedures to return to SLC where our teams on the ground supported our customers with their immediate needs.”

Hutlas said Delta technicians fixed the pressurization issue and returned the aircraft into service on Monday. No additional details have been released, including what may cause the pressure issue.

The FAA is investigating.
