The Portland amusement park ride that got stuck in mid-air with about 30 riders on board earlier this month will resume operation.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

The AtmosFEAR ride at Oaks Park stopped working mid-ride on June 14, leaving passengers stuck upside down for nearly a half-hour.

No serious injuries were reported, but at least one person has sued following the traumatic event. The ride was closed for more than a week.

The park announced Tuesday that inspections found no mechanical, technical or maintenance issues and that the operator was not at fault.

A spokesperson told OPB that Oaks Park cannot say what caused the ride to stop due to pending litigation.

The ride was cleared to resume operation immediately, but it will no longer move in a full circle. Passengers will have the choice of a 180 or 260-degree ride.
