Tuesday was Oregon’s Election Day, but not everyone in the state had something to vote on this time around. Voters who did receive ballots were mostly weighing in on local bonds, levies and local tax options.

In one high-profile issue, voters in Salem appear to have rejected a proposal for a new tax on wages earned within city limits. The money would have gone toward maintaining and expanding emergency services. As of Wednesday morning, the unofficial count showed about 82% of voters rejecting the tax.

School funding options on the ballot for the North Clackamas and West Linn-Wilsonville school districts appeared to have passed by wide margins. A school bond measure in the Silver Falls School District was failing.

Tuesday’s turnout was listed at just under 30%.

Preliminary election results are available at oregonvotes.gov.
