A new documentary features a hundred years of Boy Scouts of America history and the claims of more than 82,000 former scouts who reported they were sexually abused by troop leaders. The BSA declared bankruptcy in order to pay for the $2.7 billion settlement with abuse survivors. It’s the largest sexual abuse settlement in history. “Leave No Trace” relies on first-person accounts, interviews, financial records and organization archives known as the “perversion files.” Portland filmmaker Irene Taylor produced the documentary, with Willamette Week investigative reporter Nigel Jaquiss and Ron Howard’s Imagine Films. Taylor joins us to talk about “Leave No Trace,” which premiered in theaters this month and is now streaming on Hulu.
