The effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus goes into effect next week when Megadeth plays at Moda Center.

The Portland Trail Blazers announced Wednesday that anyone 12 or older will need to show proof of vaccination or evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test to attend events in the Rose Quarter. The policy starts next week.

That proof can be a vaccine card or a digital or printed copy of the card, at long as it has the ticketed fan’s name on it. Those not vaccinated must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours before the event begins.

A mask mandate is already in place throughout the Rose Quarter campus.

The vaccine requirement includes Blazers games, Winterhawks games and concerts.

The policy begins when the band Megadeth plays the Moda Center on Sept. 4.
