‘OPB Politics Now’: The Oregon legislature debates guns yet again

Back in pre-pandemic days, it was always evident when the Oregon Legislature was discussing a gun bill.

The hallways would be packed with people wanting to testify. There would be more Oregon State Police officers than normal in the building. And more often than not, you saw a lot of people openly carrying their firearms.

With the Capitol now closed to the public, much has changed. But one thing remains the same: When state lawmakers consider changing Oregon’s gun laws, people get very passionate.
