Western Oregon University Wednesday announced that nearly all classes winter term will continue to be offered online.
As with fall term, only a small number of arts and science lab-based classes will be offered in-person, with physical distancing and other protocols in place, at the university’s main Monmouth campus and newer Salem campus.
“This decision was announced now to provide students ample time to make decisions about winter term courses and seek advising support before class registration opens in November,” the university said in a statement.
WOU said classes being online will not impact tuition, “as tuition is billed at the same rate per credit for all class formats.”
Students are still welcome and encouraged to live on campus, the university said, where the majority of residence hall rooms have been transitioned to single-occupancy.
