Eighteen school districts in Eastern Oregon have come together to offer online instruction via a virtual learning academy. Students will continue to be enrolled in their home district, and will receive services from that district, but will be taking classes online. Erin Lair is the director of teaching and learning for InterMountain Education Service District, which has developed the curriculum. Scott Carpenter is the director of educational programs at La Grande School District, which is part of the collaboration.
