Former Portland Trail Blazer star Cliff Robinson has died at the age of 53, ESPN reported Saturday.
Robinson played in the NBA for 18 years, nearly half of that time in Portland, and was one of the Blazers’ most popular players in the 1990s.
After his retirement from pro-basketball in 2007, he became a reality TV star with a turn on the reality show “Survivor.”
He maintained a connection to Oregon after he left the Blazers. In recent years he became an advocate for legal cannabis sales; he pushed to allow athletes to use the substance without punishment and invested in cannabis businesses.
The cause of his death was not immediately available.
