Republican lawmakers are plainly still skeptical of the Motor Voter Program, which automatically registers people to vote when they get a new driver’s license. In recent months they have argued the program should receive far more oversight or be scrapped altogether.

One bill introduced this week would require more scrutiny before Oregonians are automatically added to voter rolls. Another would end the practice.
