Chipotle started reopening its restaurants in the Northwest Wednesday. The company closed 43 locations late last month after health officials linked them to an outbreak of E. coli.

Chipotle said in a statement Tuesday that it plans to reopen 43 closed stores in Oregon and Washington "in the coming days with a fresh supply of new ingredients."

Washington state health officials say they have found no source for the E. coli outbreak related to Chipotle and the chain's Pacific Northwest restaurants could reopen later this week.

Health officials in Washington say the number of E. coli cases linked to Chipotle restaurants has increased to 29 people in that state. 

Washington state health officials have identified the specific microorganism responsible for the E. coli outbreak tied to Chipotle restaurants in the Pacific Northwest that has sickened more than 30 people.

Residents in the Northwest who say they’ve been sickened by E. coli after eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants have retained a high-profile, Seattle-based attorney.
