- The state of Washington has declared a public health emergency after an outbreak of measles in Clark County. Thirty-four cases have been confirmed in that county, and two others have been recorded in Multnomah County, Oregon, and King County, Washington. We talk with Jennifer Vines, deputy health officer for the Multnomah County Health Department, about the risk in Oregon. And Peter Hotez, co-director of the Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development, tells us about the history of the anti-vaccination movement in the Northwest.

- We sit down with Oregon therapists Tom and Sheri Eckert who are collecting signatures for a ballot measure to legalize the therapeutic use of psilocybin, the psychotropic substance found in hallucinogenic mushrooms. Psilocybin is currently a federal Schedule 1 drug. We also get the perspective of Dan Bristow, a practicing psychiatrist in Oregon and the president-elect of the Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association. Bristow is intrigued by the growing body of psilocybin research but believes FDA approval must precede therapeutic use.
