  • We sit down with Oregon therapists Tom and Sheri Eckert who are collecting signatures for a ballot measure to legalize the therapeutic use of psilocybin, the psychotropic substance found in hallucinogenic mushrooms. Psilocybin is currently a federal Schedule 1 drug. We also get the perspective of Dan Bristow, a practicing psychiatrist in Oregon and the president-elect of the Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association. Bristow is intrigued by the growing body of psilocybin research but believes FDA approval must precede therapeutic use.
