- The U.S. Forest Service has been working on a plan for how to manage nearly 5.5 million acres of public forestland in Eastern Oregon for more than 15 years. The public now has until tomorrow to submit objections to the final draft. The plan outlines priorities for logging, conservation, road access, and ranching within the Wallowa-Whitman, Umatilla, and Malheur National Forests.
