  • By now, many people have heard about Woody Guthrie's connection to the Pacific Northwest. In 1941, Guthrie was hired by the Bonneville Power Administration to write a series of songs songs extolling the virtues of dams, now known as the Columbia River Songs. But recently, another song tied to his time in the Pacific Northwest resurfaced. This one is about the Vanport flood. We'll hear more from songster and folklorist Joe Seamons and Vanport historian James Harrison.
