• New York musician DJ Spooky recently spent time at the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest in the Western Cascades in order to compose a piece of music inspired by the natural environment.

• Portland is making a plan to make more room for mountain biking in the city. Evan Smith and Michelle Kunec-North tell us about it. Marcy Houle thinks the plan shouldn't involve Forest Park.

• Over the weekend, Portland State University jazz professor Darrell Grant and several other musicians performed in the Elliott State Forest to raise awareness about the state's efforts to sell the land. We talk to Grant about art and activism.
