The United States Small-Area Life Expectancy Estimates Project (USALEEP) breaks down life expectancy by neighborhood. In Oregon, the highest life expectancy was 89.1 years, for people born in Northwest Portland, near the southern border of Forest Park, and the lowest was 66.2 years for people born in a central Medford neighborhood. We break down some of the underlying reasons behind these numbers with state epidemiologist Katrina Hedberg.
