The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports an ongoing salmonella outbreak that is affecting more than 200 people in more than 20 states. As of this week, Oregon has the most cases.

Cases tied to the outbreak started on dates ranging from June 19 to July 11, the CDC said. As of Thursday, the most recent update from the CDC, Oregon had 51 cases believed to be connected to the outbreak.

The Oregon Health Authority has not issued any public guidance on the outbreak and said it does not plan to unless there is an uptick in cases. The agency said the CDC has been at the forefront of the outbreak, since it is on a national scale, but that it has been working in conjunction with the CDC and affected Oregonians in the ongoing investigation.

Salmonella cases were reported in Grants Pass in late June through early July, according to Josephine County Public Health.

That cluster of cases, believed to be related to a local restaurant called Si Casa Flores, has resulted in two people being hospitalized. Josephine County Public Health said in a news release that it and OHA are investigating the outbreak.

The CDC said it has not identified a specific food item, grocery store or restaurant chain as the source of the infections.
