A number of planes are circling around the Portland area on Friday morning.

The Portland International Airport said that’s because planes are in a holding pattern due to heavy fog near the Seattle-Tacoma Airport.

"It's that time of year," Perry Cooper with Sea-Tac said about the fog. "It actually was worse earlier this week."

Both PDX and Sea-Tac said there’s no estimate on when the fog might clear up and planes will be able to land in Seattle.
