Deschutes County Sheriff Shane Nelson has announced that his office is the focus of several external investigations.
Employees at the sheriff's office are under investigation for one allegation of official misconduct by a public servant and a potential firearm violation.
Nelson did not specify if he is the target of either of those allegations. But in a statement, he indicated that he is the subject of two additional complaints generated by employees in his office. Both complainants were former supervisors. Nelson said those complaints are being investigated by an outside agency.
The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office has been in turmoil in recent months after one captain was indicted for embezzling public funds and another resigned after violating office policies.
Nelson was appointed to office last year after his predecessor resigned. He is up for reelection in November.
