Having grown up in Asia, Tim Manickam brings a global perspective to his work at OPB when stepping in for "Morning Edition." While fluency in three languages helps with pronunciation of foreign names, he finds that it still takes local knowledge to properly say "wil-LAM-met" and "day-SHOOTS."

Tim’s life changed forever when his college roommate "volunteered" him for a shift at the campus radio station. Since then, he has worked at stations in Cleveland, Salt Lake City, and Columbus, Ohio, before moving for the enviable lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest.

When Tim is not busy with radio, you’ll find him working in his real estate business, enjoying the local arts scene or hiking and climbing in the Cascades.
