Along with Kotek, seven other Democratic women will be on stage with Louis-Dreyfus, including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, Maine Gov. Janet Mills, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and New Mexico Gov. Michelle Luian Grisham. The conversation is expected to touch on the women’s accomplishments. The Democratic Governors Association has created a Women Governors Fund dedicated to electing Democratic women to governor’s offices across the nation. The group has raised millions of dollars since 2018.

“Throughout their time in office, Democratic women governors have made history, changed the conversation surrounding women in executive roles and gotten big things done for the good people of their states. They’ve shattered marble ceilings and demonstrated excellence leadership,” Louis-Dreyfus said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, which first noted the panel.

The HBO Emmy-award winning show “Veep,” which stars Louis-Dreyfus, has received a lot of attention since its plotline once again seems to mirror some real-life politics. In the satirical show, Louis-Dreyfus plays the vice president who becomes the president of the United States. Once U.S. President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign, there were several conversations and memes and a New York Times editorial about similarities between reality and the sitcom.

Shortly after President Biden made it clear he was dropping out of the race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Kotek joined other top Democrats from the state in endorsing Harris.

“She’s tough, she’s smart and she’s ready to unite the country,” Kotek said at the time. “Kamala Harris should be our next president.”

Oregon’s Democratic delegates voted to unanimously support Harris at the convention. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to be held in Chicago from Aug. 19 to Aug. 22.
