Herbie Hancock is so much more than the world’s greatest living jazz musician. His storied career includes several platinum albums, crossover hits on the billboard charts, a war-chest full of Grammy awards and even an Oscar.
At 83, he’s as sharp as ever – whether it’s working with Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Terrace Martin or DOMI and JD Branch – and he’s still at the forefront of modern music. We caught up with Herbie at his studio in LA to talk about his upcoming tour, including his performance in Oregon at McMenamin’s Grand Lodge on Sept. 19.
