Animal rights group PETA says its so-called “Hell On Wheels” truck was stolen in Southeast Portland earlier this week.

The white Ford Econoline box truck is covered in images of chickens crammed into crates and headed for slaughter. It’s meant to encourage people to stop eating chicken. Large decals on the driver and passenger side doors show a logo of a chef holding a dead chicken.

The truck had been in the city for a demonstration last week, following a rollover truck crash on Interstate 5 in Portland that killed dozens of chickens.

Portland police say the truck was stolen near Southeast 72nd Avenue and Flavel late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

PETA is offering a $5,000 reward, plus a year’s supply of vegan chicken, for tips that lead to the truck’s location.
