Winter weather alerts in effect for much of Western Oregon

Winter weather alerts are again in effect for much of Western Oregon through mid-Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings along the Cascades and foothills, where more than a foot of snow could fall above 2,500 feet of elevation.

The Coast Range could see heavy snow above 1,000 feet, with accumulations of up to a foot in some areas.

Forecasters warn travel will be difficult at higher elevations.

Storm warnings and winter weather advisories are also in effect in Klamath County and much of southwest Oregon.

The Portland metro area and north Willamette Valley may see snow showers, and less than a half-inch of snow accumulating above 700 feet.
