Portland police kill armed man in domestic violence incident, police say

Portland police say officers shot and killed an armed man who was involved in a domestic violence incident early Sunday.

Shortly after midnight, officers responded to a report of a man and woman physically fighting near Southeast 148th Avenue and Clinton Street, according to a press release.

Police say the man fired a gun and an officer returned fire. The man died at the scene.

Police haven’t released the names of the people involved, including the officers.
