Thousands of Clackamas County ballots from the May 17 primary had to be reprocessed because misprinted barcodes left them unreadable by tabulating machines.
Within hours of the first returns on election night in Oregon, the secretary of state wanted Clackamas County Clerk Sherry Hall to deliver a detailed plan as to when the votes would be fully counted. A week later, Hall submitted one.
Clerk Sherry Hall told reporters last week she had no idea how a staffer for U.S. Rep. Kurt Schrader gained early access to watch ballots be counted. Footage suggests she was on hand when it happened.
