Health officials are asking people to stay out of Vancouver Lake for now, due to toxic blue-green algae blooms.
Samples taken earlier this week showed high levels of toxins in the lake. People should not have any contact with the water. Ingesting it can be harmful for people and fatal for pets.
Clark County Public Health will post signs at the lake and continue to test the water every week.
Officials say Vancouver Lake Park is still open and the water is safe in the shelters and restroom faucets.
Warning advisories are also in place at Lacamas and Round lakes for high toxin levels.
Public health officials are asking people not to swim or water ski in these lakes. Anyone kayaking, paddle boarding or canoeing in the lakes should avoid thick or bright scum on the water.
