Haley Heynderickx Live At Kelly’s Olympian

By Jerad Walker (OPB)
March 8, 2018 5 p.m.

The Portland songwriter performs songs from her stunning debut record and chats with opbmusic’s Jerad Walker.

In the wake of the release of her first full-length album, “I Need To Start A Garden,” songwriter Haley Heynderickx has received plenty of high-profile praise. Pitchfork, The New York Times, Stereogum, Paste, and NPR have all gushed over the record. And it’s well-deserved.

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

The eight-song release really is a stunning debut, but it's not a total surprise-- at least not to music fans here in her hometown of Portland. We've followed Heynderickx's career closely throughout the years and seen her steadily progress from a teenager singing Bob Dylan covers on YouTube to becoming one of the most promising musicians in the country.

Heynderickx recently joined us at Kelly’s Olympian in downtown Portland and played songs from “I Need To Start A Garden” (as well as a new song called “Spit In The Sink”). Watch videos from the session above and listen to our full interview with her below.
