First, OPB reporter Emily Cureton looks at the battle to replace U.S. Rep. Greg Walden in a district that covers much of central and eastern Oregon. Former Oregon Sen. Cliff Bentz won a crowded Republican primary in May and based on the demographics of Oregon’s 2nd House district, is the frontrunner against Democrat Alex Spenser.

Next, OPB’s Jeff Mapes explains why longtime U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio might face his most significant challenge this fall against Republican challenger Alek Skarlatos in Oregon’s 4th Congressional district.

Finally, OPB’s Troy Brynelson analyzes a rematch from 2018 in Washington’s 3rd District, where U.S. Rep Jaime Herrera Beutler once again is defending her seat against a challenge from Democrat Carolyn Long.
