John Carlile evacuated his McKenzie Bridge home earlier this month when the Holiday Farm Fire burned through Lane County. Carlile’s home was safe, but 431 residential buildings and 24 commercial buildings were destroyed. Survivors of the fire have struggled to access WiFi, phone service and mail in the communities east of Eugene along Highway 126. To help, Carlile and a group of volunteers set up a relief center to distribute food and gas in the town of Rainbow. We hear from Carlile about the Rainbow Relief Center, and how survivors are doing.
