About 300 people who visited a chiropractic clinic outside Vancouver, Washington, are being told to quarantine immediately.
The Clark County Public Health Department said Wednesday the request applies to anyone who visited a Chiro One Wellness Center in the Salmon Creek area Sept. 8-11.
County health officials say an unidentified staffer at the clinic tested positive for COVID-19. The county learned of the positive test Monday, and is putting out the word because of the high number of potential exposures, a spokesperson said.
“We want to make sure the people who are impacted know as soon as possible,” said health department spokesperson Marissa Armstrong.
Privacy laws prevent disclosing more information about the staffer’s role and how they interacted with patients, but health officials said they spent “extended amount of time with patients” and that “mask use was not consistent” among staff and patients.
Fourteen facility staff are also being told to quarantine. The clinic is located at 13800 NE 20th Ave., Vancouver.
Health officials said people who visited the clinic before or after that window are not at risk.
Health officials have notified the Washington Department of Health and the state Department of Labor & Industries about the case.
Representatives from Chiro One Wellness Centers, headquartered in Illinois, could not be reached for comment. The company has four locations in Clark County. Most of its locations are in Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois, according to the company’s website.
