The Oregon Legislature kicks off its second special session of the summer on Monday. The focus this time is closing the budget gap, which is now over $1 billion. It remains to be seen whether lawmakers will also take up bills related to policing that did not pass in the June special session. Businesses, school districts and local governments are also hoping to gain liability protection from lawsuits related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We break it all down with OPB political reporter Dirk VanderHart.
