Oregon Society of Artists: Art for Doernbecher
- Where: 2185 SW Park Place, Portland
- When: Through August 29th
- Oregon Society of Artists has a show up in August of paintings that will later be donated to Doernbecher Childrens Hospital. 30 member artists have contributed oils, acrylics, watercolors and more ..but before they’re installed, you can see them through the month at 2185 SW Park Place downtown Portland…just up from the Multnomah Athletic Club. An opening reception will be August 3rd from 1 to 4.

Faster, Higher, Farther Sports Photography show
- Where: Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene
- When: Through Sept. 1st
- For the art of sports photography, head down to The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on the campus of the University of Oregon. They have a new show titled: Faster, Higher, Farther: the spirit of Track and Field Sports. It runs through September 1st.

Phantom of the Opera

- When: August 13 – September 7
- It’s the longest running show in Broadway history…. The Phantom of the Opera returns to Keller Auditorium for a good long run…plenty of chances to enjoy that chandelier falling.

Contemporary Northwest Art Awards
- Where: Portland Art Museum
- When: Through Sept. 14th
- With the summer weather, we almost hate to encourage you to go inside, but don’t miss the Contemporary Northwest Art Awards at the Portland Art Museum. This new show celebrates the quality, innovation and talent of emerging and nationally under-recognized professional artists in the NW. Of 28 finalists, 5 were chosen for awards. It runs through September 14th at the Portland Art Museum.

Low Tide on the Oregon Coast, Sculpture by Angel
- Where: Coos Art Museum
- When: Through September 20th
- The Coos Art Museum opens a new show titled “Low tide on the Oregon Coast”..an exhibition of mixed media sculpture by Angela Pozzi… see her take on sea anemones, urchins, coral and other aquatic life. The museum is located in downtown Coos Bay and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
